Pretty Good – but too heavy (27 lbs) The bike has nice components and seems well enough built – it should be fine. The only problem is weight – it weighs 27 lbs. Unfortunately there are not a lot of choices out there that weigh much less. Most similar bikes weight in at 25-28 lbs. In this class of kids/mountain bikes, it seems that even the manufacturers are embarrassed by the weight – few list it on their websites.

WORST kids bike ever!! I bought one of these 2 years ago because I wanted something better than what you find at the local shops. Boy, what a mistake! This bike is complete junk. My daughter is so tired of me having to tinker(and I’m pretty proficient with bike repair) with this bike every time she rides that she doesn’t even bother with it anymore- yesterday she was out running behind the neighborhood kids who were riding their bikes. Not only is this bike heavier than my adult size mountain bike but the brakes and shifter and levers are total junk. Please save yourself and your child lots of heartache and frustration and skip this one!!

Mayonaise says:

Heavy but hearty This bike is good, but not perfect. The gears are good, but the shifter requires way too much force for the age of child this bike is aimed at. I am tempted to try and replace the shifting mechanism, but the bike is ok on its own and not worth putting money into. The front fork is way too stiff… I don’t understand, I swear, it’s stiffer than my adult mountain bike fork. Would have liked to see them design this component more appropriately. The brake handles are physically too far away from the grips… It’s a stretch for my larger adult hands to pull the brakes and so it’s a bit awkward for my daughter. All of this being said, it’s hard to find a bike this size with the features this bike has and the color is beautiful. The bike sounds very quiet and it’s sturdy, even though perhaps a bit too heavy, it’s not problematically heavy. From this review you might be thinking it might not deserve 4 stars, but aside from what I mentioned, the bike feels nice and rides great. My 6.5…
