Buyer Beware I purchased this bike thanks to the low price and impressive looking suspension. I have to say the one thing that didn’t disappoint was the suspension. Unfortunately, everything else did. The plastic chain guard broke fairly quickly, and the chain gets stuck in between the back sprocket and frame just as another reviewer pointed out. Just the third time I rode the bike the pedal broke off. This was new to me, so I bought universal replacements for both and that wasn’t a problem again. The rear wheel is also very cheep. After every 20 miles the bolts would loosen to the point of being useless. Eventually the rear bolt and bearings failed altogether. I also don’t like the position of the bolt securing the handle bar. It seems like no matter how much I tighten it, it eventually becomes loose again. Fortunately, I have a tool kit in my bag with me so I wasn’t stranded. By far, my worst experience with a mountain bike. The only thing it did was look good while parked in the…
CHEAP FAIR QUALITY IT’S AN OK.BIKE WITH A GOOD LOOKS TO IT… SHIMANO EQUIPED PARTS WHICH ALSO A FAIR WELL KNOWN QUALITY BIKE PARTS… IT IS NOT THE TOP KNOTS, AND SOME GENESIS PARTS ARE NOT STANDARD LIKE THE FORK AND THE BAR HOLDER IT’S A SET, AND IF YOU WANNA UPGRADE THAT IT WILL NEED TO REPLACE THEM BOTH… ANYWAY… I SET UP THE BIKE BEFORE I TRY IT OUT… I MAKE SURE THAT THE MECHANISM IS IN PROPER WORKING ORDER AS WALMART STAFF ASSEMBLED THEM… THE BIKE WORKS WELL ACTUALLY AND I’M HEAVY IM A 250LBS GUY RIDING THIS BIKE MAINLY ON ROAD AND OFF ROAD SOMETIME… AND IT JUST WORKS WELL FOR ME… THE SHIMANO GEARS ARE ALSO WORKING PROPERLY AND IT MAY NEED A FEW ADJUSTMENT IF IT NOT CHANGING GEARS CORRECTLY… BUT IT SO FAR SO GOOD AFTER A WEEK OF DRIVING IT TO THE TRAILS ON AND OFF THE ROAD… I BEGIN TO RE ADJUSTING THE WIRING SYSTEM ON ITS GEARS AS THEY ARE JUST FAULTY SOMETIME BUT NOT TO THE EXTENT…THE OVER ALL WEIGHT OF THE BIKE IS A LITTLE HEAVIER THAN THE OTHERS…
This is a very poorly built bicycle. I have already spent more time fixing it than riding it. I think more energy went into designing how it looks than went into designing how it runs. The plastic chain guard broke fairly quickly, and the chain gets stuck in between the back sprocket and frame. The Chinese government would be well served to forbid products this cheap to be exported, as it does not serve their reputation very well. I failed to confirm that the seat and handle bar can be elevated to normal height, so I found out the hard way it is not designed for anyone over 5’6″ or so.
